GERMAN SLATE MINE

In the Eifel Museum, located beneath Genovevaburg, you can immerse yourself in the history of the castle, the Eifel region, and the town of Mayen in about an hour and a half, reliving past times. Beneath the castle, the German Slate Mine also awaits visitors who, equipped with a jacket and helmet—just like real miners—can explore the “World of Slate.”

MILITARY TECHNOLOGY STUDY COLLECTION

During a visit to the Defense Technology Study Collection (WTS), you will gain a comprehensive overview of army technology, which is the main focus of the collection. Nevertheless, exhibits from the “Air Force” and “Navy” sectors are also on display.

The variety in the weapons department—whether handguns, machine guns, or sniper rifles—is immense and unparalleled in other publicly accessible exhibitions.
